Excess fat tissue in the body may lead to high levels of inflammation, which can adversely affect different organs, including the skin, and worsening autoimmune skin conditions like psoriasis. Dr. Jennifer Soung, a world-renowned dermatogist and psoriasis expert (and a dear friend and colleague) presented important information on the impact of obesity treatments on psoriasis at the International Psoriasis Council in April this year.
