Why ATLAS?
ATLAS Immunometabolic Health & Research is a medical practice dedicated to incorporating technology to evidence-based medicine and leading research to personalize and enhance your health. Through partnership with specialists, nutritionalists, and behavioralists, we take a more holistic approach to health. Our goal is to create a proactive and connected care experience that goes beyond our office walls.
Founded by Dr. Wayne Ho, board-certified in internal medicine, obesity, and HIV medicine, ATLAS Health was created from his diverse experiences in different practice settings (hospital, clinic, academic, private practice, and federally qualified health center), clinical research background, medical school education, and advocacy work. He was frustrated with the inability to provide the type of holistic care he wanted in the other settings in which he practiced. Necessity is the mother of all inventions; hence, ATLAS was born. Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals to reach their health goals through evidence-based interventions and innovative technology. We strive to be non-judgmental health partners who provide healthcare through a patient-centric, technology infused, and collaborative approach. We aim to advance medical knowledge through conducting clinical research.
Approach
We view ourselves not as paternalistic, authoritative guardians of health. We are health consultants who want to understand your concerns and help you navigate a personalized pathway to improved health. Admittedly, we may not always agree on the treatment plan, but we will always discuss it so we understand the other's perspective and decide on a contingency plan together. In 2020, medical knowledge was estimated to double every 73 days. It will only accelerate with more technological advancement. We unlikely will know all the answers but promise to let you know when we don't and to find them. We will partner with specialists and consultants when their expertise is needed.
Our Model
Most would agree that quality, personalized healthcare cannot be delivered in a 10-15 minute visit. We want to prioritize quality care through our multidisciplinary approach ensuring comprehensive care without the feeling of being rushed. With an annual membership fee, you'll benefit from 30-minute appointments and 1-hour sessions for annual physicals which include a body composition analysis and consultation with our dietician. We integrate updated technology for efficient remote health monitoring, ensuring you receive the best care in today’s data-driven world.
Benefits
Membership allows for longer appointments, incorporation of technology from wearables and home devices into medical care. We also incorporate technology into our office practice through the use of a vein mapper to make phlebotomy more precise with fewer missed attempts, a FibroScan in-house to assess liver health,. Yearly physicals would include body composition analysis using our bioelectrical impedance machine along with a free nutritional consultation with our dietitian. Each provider will have a smaller patient panel to ensure there won’t be long wait times for an appointment. We also have Saturday hours for people who can’t make it during the week.

Our Services
ATLAS believes in the importance of comprehensive, coordinated care. That is why strive to provide a diverse set of services through the expertise of our staff and partnerships with other specialists, and allot for longer appointments to allow for better coordination of care.

Research
Clinical trials are essential tools to ensure the safety and efficacy of new medications. Our knowledge of how well a medication works, how long it works, and its side effects comes from clinical trials. We owe this information to the individuals who participate in these studies.
Participating in a clinical trial may sound intimidating. Some people may think that it could be dangerous. That should not be the case. The principal investigator of the trial is responsible for participant safety, first and foremost. There are also other partners in a study who provide safety and quality checks through the study, ensuring every participant remains safe and that the trial is conducted properly. Participants may gain access to new treatments that are not yet available. But just as important, they will help expand medical knowledge and accelerate the development of new treatments that may help people around the world, current and future. See below for the areas of research in which we are involved:

Obesity and
Related Diseases
The world of obesity treatment continues to change rapidly, thanks to the development of more effective medications that may also prevent the progression of organ damage caused by obesity. Help continue the rapid improvement in obesity care by participating in a clinical trial with the ATLAS team, which has years of experience with obesity clinical trials.
Diabetes and Related Disease
Diabetes is a chronic condition that now affects more than 1 in 10 adults worldwide. Clinical research in diabetes is more important than ever to help reverse this worrisome trend. Your participation in a clinical trial can help. Our staff has been involved with the development of new insulins, oral and injectable medications for diabetes. We hope you will trust us with your care in a trial.
Other Indications
ATLAS IMHR has experience conducting clinical trials in diverse indications from cardiovascular to dermatologic conditions. Ask us which trials we are currently involved.
